Global Mentoring Program

About

AUP's Global Mentoring Program (previously the AUP Career Mentoring Program) brings together AUP alumni and current AUP students for a holistic and career-based mentoring relationship over the course of one academic semester. Alumni mentors guide students in setting and achieving academic, personal and professional goals and provide insights to support their mentee's goals for post-AUP life. To be eligible to participate in the program, mentees must have at least sophomore standing and be enrolled as degree-seeking students at AUP, either as an undergraduate or graduate student.Ìý

All meetings between AUP students and alumni will be held virtually during the SpringÌý2023Ìýsemester.

To get involved as a student or an alum, keep reading to learn more and contact alumniataup.eduÌýwith your questions.

How it works

Ìý

  2. AUP Alumni AffairsÌý(alumniataup.edu) will match AUP students with alumni based on their responses, then share the results with you.ÌýWhile your mentor may be in a different professional field than the one you're interested in, they will be an excellent resource for you as you prepare for life after AUP, whether that's in one semester or three years from now.
  3. Attend the "Lunch and Learn" event (February 7 at 12h-13h30 in Q-704), hosted byÌýAlumni Affairs and theÌýCareers Office. Events like these are a great way to connect with other menteesÌýand enrich your experience.Ìý
  4. Reach out to your mentor first and connect regularly. After receiving your match, you must sendÌýanÌýintroductory email to your mentor and arrange a time for your first virtual meeting. During that meeting, we highly recommended working out a meeting schedule for the semester, and discussing your goals for this semester. We also recommend that you and your mentor meet three to five times during the semester for 30 to 60 minutes at a time. This time frame is flexible and it's up to you and your mentor to determine what works best.Ìý
  5. Use your resources. To help guide your meetings, additional resources, including conversational prompts, questionsÌýand tipsÌýare availableÌýon this page and will be emailed to you.Ìý
  6. Achieve your goals over the duration of the semester and thank your mentor for their support and insight!
