AUP’s six officers are members of the President’s Leadership Team and manage all of AUP’s administrative functions. From guiding the University’s faculty to managing financial operations and engaging alumni support, these leaders work to execute the University’s vision and mission.

Dr. William Fisher, Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs

Dr. William Fisher joined AUP as Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs on August 1, 2018.

Dr. Fisher served as the Associate Provost and Dean of Graduate Studies at Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts – a small, liberal arts–based research university not unlike AUP in size and ambition.ÌýDr. Fisher will usher in a new era at AUP as our Provost. In this role, he will be the senior academic planning and budget officer at AUP, charged with creating with his colleagues a new academic vision for the University. This renewal of the curriculum will include general education, majors and minors, programs, research centers and graduate programs, and will realign each with the needs and aspirations of the global explorers who are our students.

While at Clark University, Dr. Fisher also served as Professor of International Development and Social Change in the interdisciplinary department he was specifically brought from Harvard to create. Today it is Clark’s second biggest department and includes a research center and a graduate program.

From 1992 to 2000, Dr. Fisher taught in the Department of Anthropology at Harvard University, where he was Director of Graduate Studies in Anthropology and a Dillon Fellow at the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs. He also taught at Princeton University and Columbia. At Columbia, he served as Assistant Director of the University’s Center for South Asian Studies and directed the Economic and Political Development specialization at Columbia’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA). His research focuses on the social and environmental impact of large dams, forced displacement, transnational advocacy, competition over natural resources and nongovernmental organizations. His research and work for agencies – such as CARE, USAID and the UNDP – has taken him around the world.

Dr. Fisher is a graduate of Bucknell University and holds both a doctorate and master’s degrees in Anthropology and International Affairs from Columbia University.ÌýHe is a specialist in the language and culture ofÌýNepal, where he has done extensive fieldwork and research.

Valérie Fodé, Executive Vice President for Finance and Administration

Valérie Fodé is the ExecutiveÌýVice President for Finance and Administration at The American University of Paris. She holds a Diplôme d’expertise comptable and studied economics at the University of Nancy. Valérie joined AUP in January 2011, coming from the world of consulting, auditingÌýand for-profit corporations. She spent nearly a decade with Price Waterhouse in Paris before assuming the role of financial director (secretaire general) at Unilog and at Equalliance, a French real estate company.

Valérie oversees the Finance, AdministrationÌýand Human Resources teams at AUP. She believes firmly in putting AUP’s core business, teachingÌýand learning firstÌýand inÌýassuring that financial processes are healthy and transparent so as to ensure the University’s future.

Robert (Bob) Johnson, Chief Information Officer (CIO)

Robert (Bob) Johnson comes to the University from the University of Memphis, where he has served as the Associate CIO for four years, overseeing the technology infrastructure, change and project management, and strategic development. Before the University of Memphis, Bob served at Rhodes College where he was the VP and CIO for 18 years. During that time Bob oversaw the development of a unified IT, Library, and IR division as well as overseeing Student Affairs for twelve years and Â黨ӰÊÓ and Financial Aid for six. Prior to Rhodes, Bob was the VP and CIO at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee, where he also served as the Director of Institutional Research and the Assistant Provost.ÌýÌýÌý

Bob’s leadership and expertise is demonstrated through extensive involvement in a variety of civic and higher education organizations. He has served as a board member of the Greater Memphis IT Council, the Society for Information Management, the City of Memphis CIO Advisory Committee, and the University of Memphis Business IT Advisory Board and has held many regional and national leadership positions in education and technology organizations.Ìý

Bob earned his Doctor of Philosophy in Religion from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee and has completed all but dissertation for the Doctor of Education in Higher Education Leadership. He is published in the areas of Hebrew philology, faculty productivity, student retention, and higher education technology.ÌýÌý

Marc Montheard,ÌýVice President forÌýStudentÌýServices and Security

Born, raisedÌýand educated in France, Marc Montheard earned a master’s degree in English and American Literature and Civilization and a PhD from the Sorbonne in British Contemporary Politics. His graduate work focused mainly on political parties, electionsÌýand industrial relations in the United Kingdom.

Before falling in love with the American liberal arts educationÌýsystem, Marc taught in several educationÌýsystems and countries, notably at The University of Hull (UK) and at Université Paris IV - Sorbonne.

He started teaching at AUP in 1987 as a part-time lecturer and became full-time two years later. He was Co-Chair of the Department of French and Foreign Languages for six years before becoming Associate Dean of Academic Affairs in 1998. In 2004, he was acting Dean of Academic Affairs, and was appointed Dean of Academic Administration in 2005.

Marc has been Vice President and Dean of Student Services since 2006. In this role, he supervises the University offices pertaining to student life: Housing, Student Immigration Services, Student Health Services and Counseling, Sports, and the Cultural Program. Marc also oversees support to student organizations and activities and the development and maintenance of relationships with AUP’s partner schools, providing opportunities for our students to study abroad and to their students to spend one semester at AUP.

Kilian Ordelheide, Director of Communications and Outreach

Kilian Ordelheide is Director of Communications and Outreach at The American University of Paris. As an AUP alumnus with a BA in Global Communications and an MBA Candidate at Warwick Business School, Kilian is uniquely positioned to lead the University's communications, outreach and advancement efforts.Ìý

Kilian previously worked as a communications manager for an international legal alliance before launching his own consultancy in communications strategy and website development, where he has worked with over 50 clients fromÌýa dozen different countries. He joined AUPÌýin 2015 and has since risen to the rank of director.ÌýKilian manages the communications and outreach teams that are responsible for communicating the University's brand,Ìýcommunicating its key messages and building relationships with various audiences;Ìýin particular alumni, parents and donors.Ìý

Tim Rogers, Vice President and Director of Enrollment Management

Tim Rogers is Vice President and Director of Enrollment Management at The American University of Paris. Educated in the UK at the Universities of Hull, Warwick and Westminster, with a period of study in the USÌýat the University of Kansas, Tim has gone on to become one of the leading international education consultants in the world today and has now joined the AUP team.

As the former Head of Student Recruitment andÌýÂ黨ӰÊÓ at the London School of Economics andÌýPolitical Science, Tim has more than 20 years of experience in international student recruitment and admissions, the development of higher education international strategy, university administration and management, educational marketing, national-level policy making and press relations.ÌýHe established his own private company, International Higher Education Consultants UK Limited in 2003, and has worked for more than 100 clients in over 30 countries. His views are published widely around the world and he has written a number of books on international education.

At AUP, Tim oversees the Office of Â黨ӰÊÓÌýand is responsible for the development of strategies to support the recruitment and selection of qualified students from around the world.Ìý
